The space
The property is in the process of being renovated and it is hoped to be opened by March 2022. It is available to rent prior to this date although there are a few small outstanding jobs that are ongoing.
The property is situated between Roos Loch and Roos Wick which is a secluded bay used by seals.
The bedroom has a hotel quality king size zip link bed which converts to two single beds. There are 4 double sockets in the room, 3 with USB ports. Hang space for clothes is provided. Bedding is provided and beds are fitted with mattress toppers.
The lounge is light and airy. The luxury two seater sofa bed provides flexibility of sleeping arrangements. Two of the 4 double sockets have USB ports. There is a smart TV for your entertainment.
The large modern kitchen is fully equipped and includes a dishwasher, fridge, oven and ceramic hob. There is a table and chairs for dining or can be used for when working from home. There is a double socket with USB ports beside the table. There is also a free standing breakfast bar with 2 stools.

Guest access
The property forms half of Nouster. One half is the owners accommodation whilst the rental property is self contained with its own entrance. There is a locked door between the two sides.
There is free parking on site.
A walled garden is situated in front of the property with a round table and benches – ideal for morning coffee or evening drinks. How about a BBQ?
Other things to note
Please note that we are pet friendly and this does mean we have pets. 3 dogs. We also take in pet boarders so may have more animals than this. We have an enclosed back garden, for your sole use, where your dogs can run off lead.
If you are not “animal friendly” that is fine as all our dogs have their own areas and do not need to mix with guests.
As there is only a locked door between you and the owners there is a possibility that when our dogs first hear you, they will bark but soon settle down.
We have dog towels and poo bags available for your use.
There are 2 pubs on the island and a pizza takeaway.
The Kettletoft Hotel in Kettletoft has a chip shop takeaway available on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
The Belsair, also situated in Kettletoft opens Friday and Saturday for food.
The Pizza takeaway is situated in Burness, in walking distance to Nouster. They are open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday although they do require 24 hours notice of an order.
All are subject to short notice change due to Covid 19 and other commitments.
There are two shops and post offices dotted around the island. Don’t miss the Heritage Centre or “The Croft”. The island has three lochs stocked with trout. I could tell you more but it will spoil the surprise – come and discover what else Sanday has to offer.
This is a special place and I have had some wonderful guests stay with me. Just let me know if you have any questions, I am always available to help you make the most of your stay.
I look forward to meeting you.
